BESST-HORT - Capacity Building programme on Scientific Goat Management

ICAR-KVK(BSS), Idukki from 1995 onwards works for the empowerment of farming community in Idukki district. To widen up the group dynamics among the farmers; a mass range awareness training, campaigns and meetings were organized. As a part of this, organization of special Training Programme on Scientific Goat Management Under SCSP (2022-23) on 19th August 2022 in collaboration with BESST-HORT and ICAR-KVK, Idukki, Kerala was conducted at ICAR – KVK, Seminar Hall, Santhanpara, Idukki, Kerala. The meeting was started with silent prayer. Dr. R Marimuthu, Senior Scientist & Head, ICAR-KVK, Idukki welcome the gathering. Dr. Rohini M. R., Scientist, IIHR, Bengaluru inaugurate the function and delivered inaugural address. She commented the importance of this programme and conveyed the good performance of farming communities message to all those who are all attended the event. In her speech she gave the assurance for empower the farming communities through various government schemes like this training Programme. Dr. S. Jayababu, SMS (Animal husbandry), ICAR-KVK, Santhanpara overall arrange the programme and delivered awareness of this Capacity Building of farmers through Training programme on Profitable Dairy farming and Livestock management programme. Dr. R Marimuthu, Senior Scientist & Head, ICAR-KVK, Idukki, Dr. S. Jayababu, SMS (Animal husbandry), ICAR-KVK, Santhanpara and Dr. Muthalraj, Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Hospital, Santhanpara handled training session on Mixed Fodder Cultivation, Scientific Feeding & Breeding Management in goats and Scientific Disease management respectively to the farming communities. The programme ended with Vote of Thanks by Mr. Sudhakar Soundarajan, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection), ICAR-KVK, Idukki. Around 50 farmer and farm women were participated the programme.
