Inauguration of “Training and Demonstration of Improved Production Technologies for Horticultural Crops in Idukki District of Kerala” under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) Scheme of ICAR- IIHR Bengaluru held at ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Idukki District

The programme was jointly organized by ICAR Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Idukki and ICAR- IIHR, Bengaluru for benefiting the tribal farmers of Aruvilamchal Hamlet in Nedumkandam block of Idukki district on 04.1.24. The program was inaugurated by Dr. R. Marimuthu, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Idukki. During the program technological inputs like seeds of Tomato (A. Rakshak, A. Samarat, A. Abhed, A. Apesksha), Chilli (A. Kyati, A. Gagana,A. Haritha,A. Meghana,A. Sanvi,A. Shweta,) Brinjal (A. Anand, A. Harshita), Okra (A. Nikita, A. Anamika), Pumpkin (A. Suryamukhi),Yard long Bean (A. Mangala), Palak (A. Anupama), Veg. Amaranths (A. Arunima, A. Suguna), Dolichos (A. Jay,A. Sambram, A. Krishna,A. Visthar,A. Adarsh), French bean (A. Komal, A. Suvidha),Bottle guard (A. Bahar),Ridge guard (A. Prasan, A. Vikram),Coriander (A. Isha),Radish (A. Nishanth),Vegetable seed kit for nutrigarden, seedlings of Dragon fruit, Mango (Alphonsa, Mallika, Raspuri, Banganpalli),Annona (Arka Sahan), Pseudomonas, Paecilomyces, micronutrient mixtures like Vegetable special, biopesticides like Neem soap, implements like Lemon harvesters, Mango harvesters and Biofertilizers were provided to 100 tribal farmers of Aruvilamchal Hamlet in Idukki Dr. Selvakumar G, Principal Scientist (Agricultural Microbiology), elaborated on the major activities of ICAR-IIHR Bengaluru. Dr. D. Kalaivanan, Senior Scientist (Soil Science) from ICAR IIHR-, Bengaluru elaborated the schemes under tribal sub plan of ICAR –IIHR, Bengluru. Mr. Sudhakar S, SMS (Plant Protection), Project incharge felicitated the programme. Dr S Jayababu, SMS Animal Science, Smt. Manju Jincy Varghese, SMS (Soil Science), Biju Narayanan, Programme Assistant(Computer) from KVK, Idukki participated in the programme. Dr. D. Kalaivanan, Nodal Officer of Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) Scheme, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru and Mr. Sudhakar S, SMS (Plant Protection), Project incharge coordinated the programme.
